Cheonma Air-Defense Missile VR Maintenance Simulator Delivered for the ROK Army Logistics School
A simulator built on a virtual weapon system that works exactly like the real equipment, supporting maintenance training for up to 15 people together.

Since April 2023, CRENGINE has been developing a VR maintenance training simulator for the Cheonma (K-SAM) air-defense missile system for the ROK Army Logistics School. Selected as a 2023 purchase-conditioned R&D project, it was funded by KRW 700 million in government support and KRW 300 million of CRENGINE's own investment.
Its hallmark is a high-resolution 3D digital twin down to the lowest-level components. Sub-systems such as the fire-control unit, navigation unit and radar — and internal PCBs, wires, cables and switches — are reproduced precisely, and every switch and button performs the same function as the real equipment.
Key features
- Many users connect together for individual or team maintenance and operation training (up to 15 participants)
- Evaluation system (instructor mode) and self-study (trainee mode)
- Learning management system (LMS): course planning, question authoring, result management
- Supports Meta Quest 2/3/Pro, Apple Vision Pro, HTC Vive and other VR devices
Building on its K9 and Cheonma simulator technology, CRENGINE plans to extend XR operation and maintenance simulators to the K21, K1/K2 tanks, Chunmoo MLRS and further to naval, air and missile systems.
