Overview
Many methods exist to care for the psychological state of patients exhausted by cancer diagnosis and long chemotherapy, and recovery usually needs doctors, drugs and people. With technology, a digital therapeutic can help patients control their mental state and care for themselves without relying on drugs. Developed jointly with a leading hospital, the goal of this research is a digital therapeutic that truly helps in cancer care.
The story concept is kite-flying, which Koreans love: patients put their emotions, situation and thoughts into a kite and fly it in nature, controlling and stabilizing what the kite meets, applying self-compassion so the act serves as therapy. Of the four distress therapies (cognitive behavioral therapy, relaxation, supportive counseling, medication) it fuses cognitive behavioral therapy and relaxation.
